2002 1.8T Passat Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor replacement08 Sep 2006 03:22 GMT2
The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor (G62) is faulty on my 2002
1.8T Passat.  Looking at my Bentley manual on page G24-3, shows the
location, but I can't find it there.  All i have found was a sensor
behind the cyclinder head that was horizontal, with two leads.  That's

How do I or where is the connector to read the ck. engine light.  I
believe it's OBD 1 on the '94 Jetta 2.0.  The light does go out just
above idle.

I have about 40,000 miles on my OE tires and they look like they'll need replacement soon.  Any recommendations on replacements would be appreciated.

'99 Passat, want new CD player to control OEM 6 disc changer.06 Sep 2006 23:00 GMT1
Well right now I have a Pioneer CD player taken from my old car, and it
has the basic Pioneer IP-BUS port (i believe it's called that) for
controlling compatible disc changers.  Well I'm wondering if there is
any type of adapter to convert the factory disc changer to utilize this
Golf TDi power steering and belt issue06 Sep 2006 18:12 GMT1
Yesterday, the belt on the power steering on my '96 Golf broke, I stopped,
freed up the mechanism, and continued to work. Steering was heavy, but
felt like an old non-power assisted car. I also noted that the engine temp
was rising higher than normal. No warning lights came on, and ...

Diesel Headache (Old Skool 1500  vs. 1600)04 Sep 2006 05:07 GMT2
I'm dealing with rebuilding a 1.5D in a 1985 Vw Golf.
Yes I know that it would have came with a 1.6- but the block just has a
"D" on it and the wrist pins are 22mm not 24. Making it a 1.5. Looks
like who ever had it blew up the 1.6 and got cheap.
2007-09 Model Trends from VWoA04 Sep 2006 01:56 GMT3
There is some good news coming out of VWoA regarding their model
lineup (at least I see it as good news).  According to the following
web page:

Side Turn-Signal light on 2001 Jetta - how to change?04 Sep 2006 01:47 GMT1
I have a 2001 Wolfsburg Jetta with a burned out side turn-signal light
(the light on the fender immediately behind the front wheel). I need to
change the bulb but can't figure out how to get at it.  There are no
screws on the lens and there's no way I saw to get in behind it.
Air Conditioner Odor04 Sep 2006 01:43 GMT12
I had always been vaguely aware of products intended to get rid of air
conditioner odor, and I had read about some kits that allow you to
install a fitting on the side of the evaporator housing so you can
inject a foam-disinfectant directly.  I asked at a local parts store
Front Suspension 1999 Passat03 Sep 2006 23:49 GMT3
At the top of the front suspension housing forging/ casting there is a pinch
bolt about 4" long holding the attachment pins of the two upper suspension
arms into position in the housing forging/ casting. I have heard this pinch
bolt described as " notorious", presumably because it ...
