I have a '96 Jetta with a shot transmission in Wisconsin. To avoid the $3000 replacement quoted from the local VW dealer, I want to buy a used transmission and have it installed in a local shop. I know nothing about cars, so please help.

I just bought a 2001 Passat. Both front and rear side marker lights are out. I can not figure out how to access the bulbs. Also I need to replace the fog light. Please help, I hate to go just prying on things. I'm new to VW.
