ac bolt on passat21 Mar 2007 01:05 GMT14
Hey folks - The AC compressor on my 96 passat is held on by two 16mm
bolts into the AC/Alternator bracket. The bolts are around four inches
long. Problem: 3" from the Bracket is the wheel well. I've got the bolt
loose but when I try to pull it out there's not enough clearance. Am ...
1984 GTI Rabbit dwell air/fuel mixture readings20 Mar 2007 13:00 GMT1
I took an analog dwell meter and connected it to the test connector near the
cold start valve.  Thinking about it I didn't consider polarity, so I am not
sure if I measured positive or negative duty cycle.  Negative duty cycle is
the time the signal is low.

Volkswagen Customer Care sinks to a new low; Pretending they can't hear
you on their end of the line! I am currently in another warranty dispute
with the dealer concerning my Dad's car and I had contacted VW customer

A2 Diesel Transmission for '91 A2 Gas Golf?20 Mar 2007 09:15 GMT5
My transmission in my 91 Golf suddenly developed a sloppy clutch and I
can't shift into any gear once the engine is started. I have to shift
into 2nd, depress clutch, start engine and go. But I have to remain in
2nd since I can't shift into another gear. I guess I need another
Flat spot - but only in 1st gear!!!19 Mar 2007 21:57 GMT1
VW Golf V6 4motion, 2000 engine code AUE.
I have a huge flat spot around the 5,500 rpm BUT only in 1st gear.  If I
boot it in 1st there is a horrible and nasty flat spot where the engine just
dies (loss of all power).  In 2nd and 3rd the engine pulls all the way over
Golf 4 Panel Lights19 Mar 2007 17:14 GMT3
My 1999 Mk4 Golf has an instrument panel light, just under the 20mph
mark on the dial out. Does anyone know if it's a bulb that can be
changed or is the whole unit sealed with LED type lights. If it's
changeable, how easy?

97 Jetta GL dies right after starting, and while driving18 Mar 2007 15:47 GMT7
About 2 months ago, I started having problems with my car dying. Over
the last couple weeks, it has gotten a lot worse, and now today I
can’t even keep it going without it dying. Basically what is happening
is right after I start the car, it dies immediately after turning

Oil consumption for 2.0L 8V - solved?18 Mar 2007 04:54 GMT11
I am contemplating the purchase of a new 2007 "City Golf" this summer.  This
car is equipped with the been-around-for-ages 2.0L 8V engine.  In and around
the year 2000, these engines had a reputation for being oil users - 1/2 to 1
litre of oil every 1000 miles was considered ...
Questions about how VW powertrain warranties work?18 Mar 2007 03:05 GMT1
If there is anyone here who knows how VW powertrain warranties work, I
have a couple questions.
If you bring a car into a dealer service with a possible powertain

Working on an 85 Jetta GL with 1.8L gas, auto trans, ac, 210,000
