VW Jetta A/C overhaul26 Apr 2007 03:24 GMT1
I need to get the A/C working in a VW Jetta 94.  It uses the "Enviro
Safe" chemical in the A/C and I have recharged it a few years ago.
Last time I charged it, it leaked out in a few minutes.  I have heard
of having this fixed.
86 Golf Starting Problem25 Apr 2007 13:02 GMT2
I have an 86 Golf, it will start fine first thing morning, afternoon
or evening. But after running for 5-10 minutes or longer, and I shut
off the engine, it will not start again, engine will turn over, but
will not start, after waiting about 10-20 minutes, it will start just
Speedometer stops working sometimes25 Apr 2007 03:08 GMT9
This is the first time I've seen this, was going down the highway and
glanced at my 98 Golf's speedometer and saw the needle at 0. Tachometer
reads normally though.
The speedometer was cutting in and out, it is working most of the time.
COIL PACK REPAIR FOLLOWUP25 Apr 2007 02:49 GMT1
Back in February, I presented a problem of an intermittent shorting of
the ignition coil in a 1999 VW Jetta VR-6, which VW said it wasn't
responsible for, although they did do a recall on ignition coils on
later model cars. One of the suggestions in the discussion was the
over heating at high speeds....25 Apr 2007 00:13 GMT1

What VW Stereos would fit my '91 Cabriolet?24 Apr 2007 13:40 GMT3
Hi folks!  I'm new here.  Bought a '91 VW Cabriolet last year and
don't like the bright blue Kenwood light show that was in the dash
when I bought it.  I would like to put back the factory radio that
came with it.  Up to now I have had no luck finding info on the web or
VW Polo central locking23 Apr 2007 17:36 GMT2
2000 Polo 1.4 diesel - has key operated central locking.  The key won't
unlock the car from the driver's door, you have to unlock via the passenger
door.  Locking the car works OK from the driver's side.  The lock/unlock
switches on the inside of the driver's door also work ...
90 Vanagon overnight no start23 Apr 2007 16:38 GMT4
Trying to help a friend out - he's got a '90 Vanagon that won't start
when left overnight.  Cranks and cranks and cranks but won't catch.
He'll leave it and come back and it fires right up!  Once running,
it'll always catch again, too.
power steering goes out in wet conditions23 Apr 2007 02:00 GMT12
1994 VW Jetta
Power steering goes out in wet conditions.  I feel the steering wheel
get tough to turn (I can still manuver the car).  The belt is not
slipping, fluid level is good.   Is this just a matter of changing the
OBD-1 Scan Tool23 Apr 2007 00:53 GMT5
Hey all I was just curious does anyone know where to find or if you
can buy the scan tool or software for the OBD-1. I have a 95 Jetta and

software at school. The reason I ask when I replaced recently the
Fixing paint chip22 Apr 2007 23:41 GMT2
I tried fixing a paint chip last year on my golf and i guess i
didn't do a very good job.
I took and paper, sanded it down, and the put the touch up paint
over it.  But now it is rusted from underneath...i guess there was
Power locks on VW Golf22 Apr 2007 23:34 GMT6
The power locks on my 1998 VW Golf have been a real pain in the a.s.
Originally I went to a local dealership (Volkswagen Waterloo) to buy an
extra key remote, since the old one was falling apart.
At the time there was no problem at all with the vacuum pumps or anything,
How do I reset the engine timing on a 1.6 diesel?22 Apr 2007 16:36 GMT2
Found two pop marks on the crankshaft sprocket, the locking hole on the
fuel pump sprocket, but there dosn't appear to be any marks on the
camshaft sprocket. The engine is still in the vehicle, a 1991 transporter.
I,m not sure which manual would cover this model, so don't want to ...
