My van idle fluctuates between 1000 and 3100 RPM at idle. Starts after engine has warmed a bit. Occasionally, the prob disappears for awhile, but happens almost all the time. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have any idea how complicated it is. From the looks of it, the mechanism operates, but the small metal "hook" is bent so that the flap will not snap shut.

I've just received a letter from the dealer who sold me my Polo to say that the cam belt's now 4 years old and hence needs replacing. However, the service part of the car manual says that it should be replaced at 60,000 miles. I've done 56,000 miles.

I have an 81 truck that has a mid eighties golf diesel engine in it. YEsterday and today it just started cuting out on me randomly. Do you have any ideas as to what it could be? If this helps about a month ago I leaned out the fuel on the pump because it smoked black excessively.

Am considering putting a Mk3 2.0 8v GTi engine into my PB Mk2 8v Gti. I am using the Milltek/TSR stainless 4 branch manifold at the moment. Can I sill use this if I go to 2l??? If I have to go back to the cast iron jobbie then I take it I'm prob better
