My van idle fluctuates between 1000 and 3100 RPM at idle.  Starts after
engine has warmed a bit.  Occasionally, the prob disappears for awhile, but
happens almost all the time.  Any suggestions?

Does anyone have any idea how complicated it is. From the looks of it,
the mechanism operates, but the small metal "hook" is bent so that the
flap will not snap shut.

I have an 01 Jetta automatic.  On the left front disc brake caliper,
the bushing where the glide pin screws into just spins,  it seems to
hold but I'm not comfortable with this.

I've just received a letter from the dealer who sold me my Polo to say
that the cam belt's now 4 years old and hence needs replacing.  However,
the service part of the car manual says that it should be replaced at
60,000 miles.  I've done 56,000 miles.

I need to remove the steering wheel and airbag to change the indicator
switch, i am reasonably competent, the manual says to disconnect the
battery as usual and release the airbag by using a piece of wire or
screwdriver thru the holes at the back of the wheel, i have spent 3

bearing without having to pull the bearing carrier off of the VW/Audi.  Also

I have an 81 truck that has a mid eighties golf diesel engine in it.
YEsterday and today it just started cuting out on me randomly. Do you
have any ideas as to what it could be? If this helps about a month ago
I leaned out the fuel on the pump because it smoked black excessively.

I have a 1997 Polo CL (the 1.6 saloon version) and there are no speakers
in the rear of the car.
There are, however, holes in the rear parcel shelf. I can't quite tell
what size of speaker is needed. The holes are oval shaped and

Previously I brought up the issue of my Onstar service being terminated in
my 2004 Passat.  Opinions about its usefullness aside - I like the service.
I wrote a letter to VW complaining about the fact that they knew about the

I've got a 1999 Passat 1.8t, I was driving down the highway this
afternoon in the rain (going about 70-75) when the car lost all power
to the wheels.  I'm assuming the most likely problem is a CV joint

Am considering putting a Mk3 2.0 8v GTi engine into my PB Mk2 8v Gti.  I am
using the Milltek/TSR stainless 4 branch manifold at the moment.  Can I sill
use this if I go to 2l???
If I have to go back to the cast iron jobbie then I take it I'm prob better
