84 Rabbit fuel pump question27 May 2007 20:22 GMT15
I have an 84 Rabbit with about 145,000 miles on it.
I'm concerned about the fuel pump since it's so old.  I'd like to
replace it but I'm not sure if I have an electrical or mechanical
pump.  Or if I have more than one.
2004 Passat Brake light Mystery27 May 2007 18:35 GMT3
I have a 2004 Passat four door sedan with the four cylinder engine.  The
brake lights (both tail light units and the rear window light) stayed on
when I shut the car down tonight and removed the key.  I tried
everything, pumping the brake pedal, shutting the ignition on and off,

1981 rabbit heater core27 May 2007 01:02 GMT9
I cannot figure out how to exchange the heater core on my 81 diesel
pickup w/ac.
I took off the two clips from the front of the  box, and I was able to
pull off the side vent in order to disconnect the heater hoses, but I

I disconnected the battery on my 1.9 TDi 2003 Audi while changing the timing
belt. I now find that I have a Air Bag Warning light on all time. Any easy
way of resetting or do I have to go to my local friendly dealer?
blown head gasket?26 May 2007 04:14 GMT10
What are some symptoms of a blown head gasket, besides white smoke?
Is there a way to diagnose the problem without removing the head?
86 Jetta GLI Power Steering Noise25 May 2007 06:03 GMT3
My wife has a 1986 Jetta GLI. The power steering has always made a whining
sound when the fluid got low, but I recently replaced a couple of leaking
power steering hoses, and now the steering pump seems to whine all the time
(when making tight turns, not straight driving).
1997 Jetta GT - sensor problem? Help!24 May 2007 07:40 GMT4
My 97 Jetta GT is having problems.  Backfiring when accellerating or under a
load (uphill), lacking power at lower rpms, and while this is happening it
makes a sort of putt-putt sound that sounds like it is coming from
under/behind the front passenger seat.  Much worse in the ...

99 Jetta Coolant leak due to repair shop mistake24 May 2007 05:05 GMT6
A couple weeks ago I had my wife's early 1999 A3 Jetta towed to a
recommended Import repair shop. The car overheated and wouldn't
restart due to a coolant leak. Fortunately it turned out to be a
cracked fitting and nothing too major. Car even runs fine now once it

For the past 5000 miles or so it appeared that when rounding a curve
at 30-40 mph in a right hand turn that the steering would "stick" or
Rear hatch lock problem on 2000 Golf23 May 2007 01:10 GMT4
Ok, so, any of you folks had a problem with the electric rear hatch locking
mechanism? Key works fine. All other locks work. This is my son's car, 500
miles away. He took out the motor and it works with applied voltage. He's
trying to find the relay that controls it without ...
VR6 engine issue21 May 2007 17:22 GMT5
I have a 2001 Jetta VR6, my check engine light went on last night (sat).
Probably not a good sign. Today I was filling the gas tank and also under the
hood filling the washer fluid. I heard a noise that sounded like a
percolating coffee maker. Anyone have any ideas on what I might ...
CHECK ENGINE - PART II20 May 2007 02:30 GMT10
[First of all, we're talking about a 1999 VW Jetta SR5 with less that
14000 miles.] Well, the "epoxy fix" ended one problem, but the check
engine light is back on after being cleared. The code was a P1128, which
someone in this group  translated to be "Long Term Fuel Trim B1 System
