No Brake Lights- Problem Solved21 Jun 2007 03:05 GMT1
I replaced the brake light switch; I guess it's a common problem.  The
part was about ten bucks and it only took a minute to replace once I
figured out how to do it.
Does anyone know the location of the reverse light switch?  That's

Hi, I have just run into this problem with my Stock Cabrio alarm/
keyless remote. If I keep the door open for longer then 60 seconds.
The Alarm goes off. It seems to have just started up within the last

Seat Covers for 86 Cabriolet20 Jun 2007 14:19 GMT2
The leather front seats on my '86 Cabriolet (Wolfsburg) are shot.  The
guy who replaced the top a few years back said he could custom make
new covers for about $1K apiece.  Too pricey for me.
Where can I get decent covers for the seats that won't break the bank?
How to refill A/C on '01 Jetta?19 Jun 2007 08:22 GMT3
My 2001 model year Jetta has had poor AC for a while now.  I assumed
it's simply low on the refrigerant, and bought one of the refill kits
with gauge.
My problem is finding the low-pressure port on the AC system.

I have a 79 Rabbit that suddenly developed an intermittent spark problem a
few days ago.
I am currently stranded in a nearby parking lot, but I've been able to do a
fair amount of testing. After smelling gas, I figured I wasn't getting
1987 VW Vanagon (Camper), 2.1L Automatic18 Jun 2007 22:44 GMT1
We have the intermittent starter problem with this Vanagon that we
have been told is common to the species. When hot, either after a long
hill-climb or on a very hot day, the starter will flat-out not
function, not even a *CLICK* until the vehicle cools, usually some

RUSTY shock tower repair18 Jun 2007 04:17 GMT3
Has anyone ever had sucess welding in a patch panel that included a
shock tower on an inner fender of a rabbit?
Would it be better to weld in a patch for just the rusted part of the
original OR would it be more structurally sound to cut out a donor
89 Cabriolet - What's this plug?17 Jun 2007 11:11 GMT4
My wife has an '89 VW Cabriolet with a manual transmission.  Driving it home
today, it became hard to find first gear, and you could detect a burning
smell.  Coolant and oil temp gauges read as normal.
When I got home I noted what appeared to be smoke from hot oil venting out a
Google is your friend16 Jun 2007 16:29 GMT2
One phrase that winds me up is that one.  In other words - "look it up you
lazy tw@t"
