Any clues on how to undo the top carrier bolt? If I'm looking at the right
bolt, it's hidden away under a bracket for the brake line, and is very
difficult to get to. And any other tips on changing the disks would be
nice - did I ought to change bearings whilst I'm at it?

On my 98 golf tdi the remote central locking has started to play up.
It works ok for a while and then the remote fails to respond so I have
to use the key.
After a while the remote will then work ok again and then will not fail

Car wouldn't start.  After setting for several days, it started and ran for
a minute.  Wouldn't start again.
Cold start injector sprays fuel when jumped.
Any ideas?

Last week someone kindly decided to break the passenger side wing mirror on
my Golf, the whole thing is cracked - glass and casing  (I hope he gets the
7 yrs bad luck).

Is there a way to test the fuel pump relay for the 83 Rabit GTI? They're
kinda expensive. The part number is 433 906 059 .

Well, back to the old rabbit. I need to replace the timing belt on my 83
rabbit, so I need to get the 79 Rabbit up and running.
Anyway, I was using the Bentley manual to diagnose the problem (no spark in
the high tension wire from terminal 4 as measured by timing gun) , and I
