I have a 97 Golf GTI/TDI with seat airbags. My Driverseat i badly worn and
needs some repairs.
My questions are:
What happens when i temporary replace the seat with one without airbag. Will

currently got a mk2 1.8 driver, which is ok but mpg could be better
(32.9 mostly a roads), just passed MOT with a few advisories nothing
major.   would like something with a bit more style and a bit better
mpg, am thinking of a mk2 GTI 8v or 16v, i know the 8v is capable of

I have an '85 GTI with an '87 16v engine that won't start. It sat for
a year or more and had the old gas pumped through the system, although
now I've drained it and replaced it with clean gas + fuel system
cleaner.

Can anyone recommend or point me to a way to polish up the plastic headlight
lenses on a 96 GL Passat?  Gave it to my son a couple of days ago and when
we were coming out of the insurance office noticed that the lenses were a
faded yellow and you could not even see through them.  ...

on  a mk2 golf driver, does it use standard shock absorbers? or are
they uprated at all? mine are worn out and need replacing... lots of
body roll at the moment. not sure which ones i should replace with.

where is the diagnostic port on my vw Jetta 1994

The rubber boots on my GF's ;01 Passat wagon are torn.  The dealer's answer is to replace the whole tie rod end (which of course
implies a partial realignment) when all that's bad is the boot.  Is there any source for just the boot?

I am helping a single mother (4 kids!) purchase a car for her oldest child,
who is 18.  Finances are VERY tight and she's pretty much limited to about
$4,000 or less.

I've had problems with my turning signal lately, and now it doesn't
work completely when i press on the brakes.  Is this an expensive
problem or would it be an easy fix.
