| MK2 Goilf GTI 8V Alternator | 22 Oct 2007 15:06 GMT | 3 |
How much work is to pull one of these off? I can see that the mounting bolt is secured under the cam belt cover somewhere - has the belt got to come off or is it a simple matter of pulling the cover off and undoing a bolt?

| caravelle cold weather starting | 21 Oct 2007 19:40 GMT | 1 |
Since the weather got a bit colder over the last few days, have noticed that the starter seems to be very slow for the first start of the day. I thought the battery must need replacing but a test at Halfords indicated the battery is in good condition.

I have a brand new Golf R32 bought in July, here in the UK. Since I got it, it has now spent more time in the dealers' workshop than in my garage and I've done more miles in loan cars than in my own. The problem is a random electronic failure which sometimes causes the ...

| '87 Scirocco 16V Oil pan | 18 Oct 2007 13:11 GMT | 11 |
My son hit an object and smashed in the oil pan on my 1987 Scirocco 16V. I'm assuming the oil pan from other years (86, 88, like that) of this car will fit. But as I recall the block here is pretty common. Are there other years and models I could get an oil pan off off in a bone ...

An acquaintance, backyard mechanic, messed with my air flow sensor setting screw. It ran okay for awhile, but now is running very rich as judged by mpg and the tailpipe black color. Mpg went from 34 mpg average to 29. He screwed it in alot beyond where the factory locked it ...
