Fuel starvation??24 Jan 2008 00:28 GMT15
89 Jetta 16v - Once the fuel tank drains to just under half tank, the
fuel pump starts to whine (main pump). I can hear the pitch of the
whine change as I apply the brakes at a stop light indicating the fuel
is sloshing around and hitting the pick-up of the in tank pump. The
16V Scirocco Transmission21 Jan 2008 23:31 GMT6
My 1987 16V Scirocco need a transmission*.
In trying to look up a replacement, I keep running into "02C Code EGC",
"02A" and "02C Code CZM" and perhaps others.
How do I know which of these apply to my car?
my "new" Golf Mk 421 Jan 2008 22:14 GMT16
I've just got this Golf Mk 4 TDI SE 100 which was quite a big purchase for
me, and so forgive my excitement.
I feel a bit of a traitor getting rid of the '94 Mk 3 which has been a
good friend, but I think it was the sensible thing to do, with the leaking
A3 - 95' Jetta III GL 2.0L21 Jan 2008 19:59 GMT4
Hello I have a question for you. Okay so my car is the one that has
the power locks but not the windows except for the sunroof. The other
day my driver side door lock stopped working. Meaning I can put the
key in I can turn it left and right and nothing is happening. Before
Ebay rant21 Jan 2008 13:48 GMT11
I bought a  Bosch diesel injector pump seal  kit on there  Dec 13th.  The
seller doesn't have shipping insurance available.   Apparently the post
office delivered it somewhere last month around the 17th. .But they don't
track where they deliver too. Just that they did deliver it ...

Hey dave AKA vwdoc1, what is with all the html posts?19 Jan 2008 16:39 GMT5
In the past few weeks your new newsgroup client has been posting a
bunch of htlm that you used to not do. If there was a group geek about
he or she might whine about it. It makes it hard to find out what you
think when it is buried in that html. I hope I did not stir the top
Anyone with a Kubvan?19 Jan 2008 14:36 GMT1
Ive been kind of lurking for awhile now just trying to soak up some
info. I just got my Kubvan back after having sold it about eight years
ago. Its a mess and I am trying to redo it, I bought a Rabbit diesel as
a donor and bought a few manuals/books so I am ready to start.
Do modern VWs have conventional thermostats?18 Jan 2008 16:43 GMT1
Is the cooling system thermostat in my '02 Passat's 1.8T engine a
traditional mechanical thermostat, complete with wax and springs and
everything, or is everything under control of the engine management
computer?
passenger side mirror for Rabbit18 Jan 2008 04:27 GMT2
I have a 1980 Rabbit (Westmoreland - American), and have for quite
some time been trying to find a suitable passenger side mirror for the
vehicle.  I did find one some years ago, but this ~$10 mirror was
fairly small and would also fold up on the highway or against
88 Fox update18 Jan 2008 02:20 GMT1
In regards to the coolant temp sensor in prior posts...
I confused the thermo-time switch with the coolant temp sensor when I made
resistance readings.  First is on top of the coolant port, latter is on
bottom.  That is why the replacement coolant temp sensor did not fit the
Water drained out. What damage?17 Jan 2008 06:04 GMT6
Hi, The bottom hose on my 1985 Passat came off the rad connection (my fault
for not securing it properly) with the result that all the freakin water
drained out. I got about two miles in slow moving traffic with the revs
slowly increasing and the engine starting to knock. Eventually ...

Hello to all,
I am writing to say thanks again to everyone who helped me out with my
water pump pulley (see hard to find parts), as well as give a bit of
an update on my 83 rabbit.  I did manage to find the pulley, cost me

It will start and run fine but after it is shut down it will not start
and you can smell fuel. Wait a few hours and it will start again.
Any help would be appreciated.

Oil leak and belt contamination Mk3 Petrol.15 Jan 2008 20:09 GMT6
My '94 Golf 1.8 petrol (Mk 3) has been leaking oil over the last couple of
weeks, and I got a chap to have a look at it today. He thinks the problem
is behind the the cam belts covers, on the left of the engine as you look
at it.
