I've been into VAG cars for about 8/9 years now and was thinking I spent
so much money on diagnostics as a hobbyist and thought about starting a
low cost diagnostic service and possible fixing of the problem depending
what it is.

Trying to get a virtual second opinion on a repair quote - a mechanic tells
me that the center support bearing is gone - and that there's no aftermarket
(OEM) parts available for this - the assembly has to come from the VW
dealer - and that parts on this runs about $1000 - couple ...

I have a 1993 FOX 1.8 that will crank and fire but will not run.
Catches but will not stay running.
New battery, alternator, coil, plugs, fuel pump, etc...
Any ideas?  Fuel pump is delivering fuel.

Does the 2000 V6 Passat have one or two timing chain tensioners.
I heard one and I heard two.  I heard one is on the front of the engine on
the drivers side, the other the rear passengers side.
Could someone please confirm the number and locations.

I drove my sisters 2000 VW Passat V6 to work this morning.
I drove about 20 miles in 20 minutes (aver 60mph) all freeway except for a
mile at the beginning and at the end, getting on and off the Freeway.
The outside temp was 56 F.

Hello - can anyone here help me with how to get the Petrol pump out of
the tank on a late model T4?
I have the tank out, and I want to replace the non functional pump - but
no idea what the trick is to remove the pump from the base of the tank.

 I've searched the discussions for VW and for autos in general with

My wife has just bought a used Jetta 2.0 SE TDI first registered in
