Water in Badges19 Aug 2009 12:10 GMT1
Has anyone had problems with water ingress into badges? My rear VW
badge (which is also the "opener" for the boot) is turning white in
places, apperently from water creeping in under the outer cover. The
cost of fitting a new one is horrendous, but I find it unsightly. Any

I have an 82 jetta diesel with 5 speed gearbox. It is having problems
getting into 1st gear, seems to be a stuck synchro problem rather than
linkage. Linkage is fine with 2 year-old  bushings.
I used to be able to go thru filler hole on type 1s and unstick syncro with
1989 VW Cabriolet11 Aug 2009 00:17 GMT1
I have an 89 Cabriolet.  When I try to start it, it spits and sputters
like it is starving for fuel.  When I push on the pedal, it stalls.
When I pull on the throttle under the engine, it is almost like it is
backfiring in the manifold or something.  It won't stay running.  It

they are barely usable.  This is also true with the wipers off the screen.
The rear wiper works fine, so the relay behind the dash is OK?
The delayed wipe still works, so the delay wipe relay is OK?
