Automotive pioneer ZAP announced today that Robert Sharon, a school teacher from Wellington, Florida, has taken delivery of the first US approved Smart Car in the State of Florida through ZAP's authorized dealership in West Palm Beach.

ZAP plans to announce other dealerships around the United States as they prepare for distribution. ZAP's first Florida customer, Robert Sharon, has been a Smart Car fan since he toured Europe as a concert pianist in 2000. He ordered a Smart Car last year through ZAP and is excited about being the first Smart Car owner in Florida.
ZAP of Palm Beach, located at 1681 N. Military Trail in West Palm Beach, is part of a new ZAP Authorized Dealer Network that caters to fuel-efficient car buyers with cars that specialize in advanced fuel technologies, including fuel-efficient cars powered by gas, electric cars, hydrogen and other fuels. ZAP is ramping up distribution for the Smart Car along with other cars that seek to target the Micro-Car niche with advanced technology vehicles. ZAP is introducing an all-electric 'City-Car' called the XEBRA(TM) this year and plans to introduce a "trybrid" automobile through a Brazilian venture in 2007.
