Toyota will display 27 concept and production vehicles at the 4th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition ("Auto Guangzhou 2006") that begins today at the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center.
This is the largest number of vehicles Toyota has ever displayed at Auto Guangzhou, and this year's show is noteworthy in that it will be the first show in which Toyota is to participate since the start of operations at Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., Ltd.
Toyota will display a wide range of products with a focus on new vehicles, including the new Camry, which Toyota began producing this year, as well as the redesigned RAV4 and Previa (known in Japan as the Estima), and the Lexus ES350 and IS300. The concept vehicles, on display for the first time in China, will include the Fine-T, which provides the environmental performance of a fuel cell hybrid system and features ease of movement through four-wheel independent drive control and a large, steering angle mechanism, presenting Toyota's vision of innovative automotive evolution.
The Toyota display will also include an environmental and safety area featuring a cut-away-body display of the Prius and a post-collision Reiz (known in Japan as Mark X). Devices with touch-sensitive screens will be installed to explain Toyota's GOA (Global Outstanding Assessment) collision-safety body structure and introduce Toyota's other advanced environmental and safety technologies.
